Personal
Everyone will be allocated their own KTM Rallye Raid tent
so you can leave that off your list, or bring your tent from
the last event and become a Rallye Raid VIP. In fact, to keep
things ship shape and ensure everyone has room to swing a
cat, these tents will be erected before your arrival. So no
other tents will be allowed at the event.
So you need to bring along a sleeping bag, mattress and pillow.
Beyond that it's up to you. Toiletries, some casual clothing
(something warm for the evenings), rain gear (just in case),
a towel, a few snacks, a torch (or headlamp) and some cash for
petrol and the bar. Don't overdo it but make yourself comfortable.
A small folding stool/chair is considered by some to be an essential.
You decide.
Puncture repair
Probably the number one requirement for a trip like this is a
puncture repair kit. In this you would include spare tubes,
patches, solution, CO2 canisters (2 per tyre) a BlowJob/Finilec
type aerosol and tyre levers.
Tools
KTM's come with a surprisingly good tool kit but you may want
to add to that with a few of your own personal preferences.
500ml oil could also be useful.
Luggage
Soft or hard panniers, top cases and tank bags are available
from various sources and can make your life a whole lot easier
than strapping everything on with rope and tie downs.
Tyres
Tyre choice for the Rallye Route 1 would definitely be knobblies.
On Route 2 you could probably get away with dual-sport tyres
but knobblies would make life easier. Route 3 would be fine
on dual sport tyres.
Riding Gear
Adventure/enduro type helmet, jacket, riding pants, gloves and
boots are recommended. And as you'll be doing some long rides,
a Camelback with your favourite juice or water is highly recommended.
Pray you won't need it, but a rain suit tucked away could save
your bacon.
GPS
The route will not be marked so you either need
to bring your GPS or adopt a riding buddy who has one. Downloads
will be available nearer the time on this website and at the
event itself.
Downloads will only be available in Mapsource format and
as a PCX5 download.
